Go
to the Board of Advisors List
The
IHEN Advisory Board consists entirely of volunteer parents, interested
in building, organizing and running the Indiana Home Educators' Network
Web Project.
It all
started with the vision of Jane Casey, for an open resource for Hoosier
Homeschoolers. In the late 1990's, an e-mail networking and discussion
list was started, called IndianaHomeschoolers.
When Jane
had to move to Illinois, she enlisted the help of Deb Harbeson and Ben
Bennett (homeschoolers she had met online, in various forums) to co-moderate
the list.
Over the
years, the list has grown in subscribers and reputation, and discussions
of an organization of sorts was discussed. Over the years, these discussions
evolved into what you see today an Internet networking project,
based entirely on the Web. It takes the original vision and goals of
Jane Casey's e-mail list resource, and expands it into the IHEN Project.
Ben Bennett,
a Full-Time Dad, homeschooler, and photographer/writer/designer, began
developing what is now the IHEN Web Project, in 2000. He has pooled
the talents of other homeschooling parents who also share Jane's original
vision of creating an internet based resource with the simple motto:
Helping Hoosiers Homeschool.
All of
the IHEN Advisors are volunteers, chipping in time, money, advice and
talents wherever and whenever they can. As the IHEN Project grows, it
will be entirely due to the hard work and contributions of everyone
sharing in this personal web project.
If you
want to help other homeschoolers in the state get connected with information,
support and resources, please consider
becoming a project Advisor.
