IMCHC feel that every child should have the opportunity to interact
with children their age on a regular basis, and we realize how
difficult it can be to find to meet this need when a child is
being homeschooled! So this group has been designed to specifically
meet that need. Open to all homeschoolers in the Marion and surrounding

Comments:
The Master's Study is a home educator's tutelage program located
on the north side of Indianapolis, Indiana that studies the liberal
arts from a historically Christian perspective. The Master's Study
does not fit the traditional notions of a school, academy or even
a cooperative enterprise. Meeting weekly or once every two weeks
(according to grade level), the Master's Study is a program that
enhances a home educator's existing program through a study of
the liberal arts from a historically Classical Christian perspective.

Comments: Thinking and Learning
Skills When you come down to it, academic success is largely about
how well a child thinks and integrates new information. Oxford
Learning's program develops a child s general thinking and learning
skills. We teach young students how to analyze information, think
figuratively, use mental aids and integrate new information to
build on what they already know. No other program is geared to
developing these core skills that form the bedrock of the deep-seated
confidence needed to do well academically. Our teachers impart
to students the importance of paying attention to the learning
process, seriously questioning new information and checking that
it makes sense. With these new skills, Oxford Learning students
tackle the academic basics and curriculum materials with confidence.

DISCUSSION LISTS
There
are several good regional and statewide e-lists for homeschoolers
throughout the state of Indiana. Because of the always changing
nature of many lists, it's hard to keep up with them. If you are
interested in finding a more specific or focused e-list, we suggest
you search YahooGroups.
You might also want to ask around on the IndianaHomeschoolers
List for recommendations. IndianaHomeschoolers is the largest
networking e-list in the state, and the best place to find answers
to most all homeschooling questions.

The purpose of this group is to help bring together homeschooling
families with preschoolers in the greater Indianapolis area. Our
focus is on physically getting together in the greater Indianapolis
area for fun, socialization and the occasional field trip. Off
topic discussions are welcome as an outgrowth of this social support
aspect of the group. Persons of all perspectives, philosophies
and religions are welcome, but please keep it nice, family friendly
and respectful of those with differing opinions. The group, as
the moderator envisions it, is secular and seeks to promote homeschooling,
attachment parenting, and other perspectives not always accepted
by mainstream culture.
